The Election Commission has asked Janmat Party Chairman Chandrakant (CK) Raut for an explanation.

A complaint has been filed against Raut, a candidate for the House of Representatives from Saptari Constituency No. 2, for violating the election code of conduct.

The complaint states that he has made a pylon of his election symbol and flag at a public place (crossroads) in the constituency where he is a candidate.

The letter sent by the Commission's Legal Officer Mohan Raj Joshi has asked him to submit an explanation within 3 days.

The letter asks whether he has made a pylon of his election symbol and party flag in his constituency as mentioned in the complaint or not? And whether or not this act is contrary to clauses (h) and (n) of sub-section (1) of Section 13 of the Election Code of Conduct, 2082.
