A newly constructed border security post was inaugurated on Wednesday in the Miteri Bridge area on the Nepal-India border in Birgunj.
The post, which was constructed in collaboration with the Green City Community Service Center and the Armed Police Force Nepal No. 13 Battalion under the ‘Miteri Pul Border Beautification Program’ with the support of Birgunj Metropolitan City, was inaugurated by Birgunj Metropolitan City Mayor Rajesh Man Singh. Addressing the ceremony, Metropolitan City Mayor Singh, Chief District Officer Bhola Prasad Dahal, Armed Police Superintendent Puran Chandra Bhatta, Superintendent of Police Sudip Raj Pathak and others expressed their belief that the border security post would play an important role in strengthening the security management of the border area and making the Miteri Pul area organized and attractive. They said that once the post comes into operation, surveillance, security management and movement at the border are expected to be more effective.
The Miteri Pul area, which is considered the gateway to the country, has been unorganized and smelly until now, but after about two months of efforts, the area has been transformed by beautifying it.
