Relatives have attempted to set fire to the dispensary after the death of 18-year-old Hansu Paswan of Lalbandi-2 Punarwas Tol, who was brought for treatment at Mohan Ayurveda Dispensary in Nawalpur, Sarlahi.

Relatives have staged a protest, saying that the patient died due to negligence in treatment.

Hansu, who was brought to the dispensary in Nawalpur for treatment after bleeding due to piles, died. She was sent out of there after her condition became abnormal during treatment.

The patient was declared dead by doctors at around 4 pm when she was taken to Namuna Hospital in Harivan. Angry locals staged a protest in Nawalpur and attempted to set the dispensary on fire.

Nawalpur was tense for some time after the incident. The police have sent the body to the provincial hospital in Malangwa for a postmortem. Vaidya Ram Binay Sah of Mohan Ayurveda Dispensary is in police custody. District Police Spokesperson DSP Saroj Kumar Rai said that the situation in Nawalpur is gradually returning to normal.
