Deputy Superintendent of Police at Simara Area Police Office, Ved Joshi, said that the Bara District Court has extended the remand of legal practitioner Haque, who was arrested from a hotel in Simara, for five days and is investigating.
Police have arrested Ekramul Haque, a 50-year-old lawyer from Basatpur village, Kalaiya 20, on charges of raping a 22-year-old married woman. Although the police arrested him, they did not make him public. He was arrested on Magh 4.
The Bara District Court has extended the remand of lawyer Haque, who was arrested from a hotel in Simara, for five days, and an investigation is underway, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Ved Joshi of the Simara Area Police Office. After conducting a medical examination of both, advocate Haque has been kept in the custody of the Area Police Office.
Advocate Haque, who runs a law firm in Kalaiya, was arrested on charges of inviting a married woman, who was also his client, to a hotel in Simara over a case, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Joshi.
Advocate Haque is a former salaried lawyer (lawyer) of the Bara District Court. He said that after the woman informed her relatives and called them, the relatives informed the police, and the hotel was raided and he was arrested red-handed.
