At a Madhesh province-level security seminar organized in Janakpur, Home Minister Aryal said that legal action would be taken against those spreading misinformation and that a peaceful election had been ensured.
Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal has said that all government agencies are ready to ensure peace and security as the election atmosphere has been created across the country.
Speaking at a Madhesh province-level security seminar organized by the Ministry of Home Affairs in Janakpur on Wednesday, Home Minister Aryal said that it is not appropriate to spread the illusion that there is unrest in the country due to a few incidents. He said that work is also being done to bring those spreading the illusion to justice, so the upcoming elections will be peaceful and free from fraud.
‘The elections will be peaceful and free from fraud,’ said Home Minister Aryal, ‘In order to avoid and resolve the past crisis, the elections are being held in the country in accordance with the spirit of the Gen-G movement.’ He also said that 450 structures destroyed in the Gen-G movement are being rebuilt with public participation and a special security plan is being implemented to bring back weapons that were looted but not returned.
The seminar, which will be attended by security officers from all 8 districts of Madhesh province, will discuss peace and security for the elections throughout the day. At the seminar, Madhesh Province Chief Minister Krishna Prasad Yadav said that since all the constituencies and polling stations in Madhesh Province are located in accessible locations, reliable deployment is required for peace and security.
‘Without implementation of the Police Act, the provincial government is unable to do anything regarding peace and security,’ said Chief Minister Yadav. ‘The province should be given the authority for peace and security. Recently, incidents of disturbing social harmony have increased in Madhesh Province due to looted weapons. This is also a challenge for the elections.’
