A clash has broken out between followers of Rampal Maharaj and locals at his ashram in Sugjor, Naktajhij, Mithila Municipality-2, Dhanusha. A dozen people from both sides were injured in the clash, according to Dhanusha Police.
The ashram had been encroaching on the surrounding public land and the land survey was scheduled for Saturday. A clash broke out between the followers and the locals during the same period.
After a dispute escalated between the locals who had gone to clear the land and the ashram people, they are blocking the road at the Mahendranagar Aurahi bridge on the Janakpur-Dhalkebar road section and shouting slogans. After the ashram followers chased and beat the locals, a group of locals came together and a clash broke out between the two sides.
The injured have been brought to Janaki Medical and Provincial Hospitals in Janakpur for treatment.
