The Janakpur-Dhalkebar road, which was blocked following a clash between followers and locals at Rampal Maharaj's ashram in Sugjor, Naktajhij, Mithila Municipality-2, Dhanusha, has been reopened.
The ashram had been accused of encroaching on public land around it and a land survey was scheduled for Saturday. During that time, a clash broke out between followers and locals.
After a dispute escalated between locals and ashram personnel who had gone to clear the land, they blocked the road at Mahendranagar Aurahi Bridge on the Janakpur-Dhalkebar road section and raised slogans. Police said that the blockade was lifted on Saturday afternoon and the situation has returned to normal.
