Siraha has a demand for 3,372 election police officers for the upcoming House of Representatives elections.
Nearly 500 people applied for election police jobs in Siraha on Friday in a single day.
481 people who want to join the election police have applied at the District Police Office in Siraha on Friday.
According to DSP Ramesh Bahadur Pal, spokesperson of the District Police Siraha, 409 men and 72 women applied on the first day. Even though it is the first day, Friday is the first day, there have been encouraging applications and the number will increase from Saturday, DSP Pal said.
3,372 election police officers are required for the upcoming House of Representatives elections in Siraha. For this, the application form can be filled from 10 am to 5 pm until Magh 1. Arrangements have been made to apply even on public holidays. The age of the candidate applying for the election police must be 18 years and not more than 54 years. In addition, the qualifications have been set to be a Nepali citizen, able to read and write normally, not convicted of criminal charges, not a member of any political party, and physically and mentally healthy.
The service period of the election police will be a total of 40 days from the date of appointment, and during the service period, they will receive a salary equal to the starting salary scale of a Nepal Police constable per day. Similarly, Nepal Police has stated that food expenses, preparation expenses, and lunch expenses will also be provided.
