The High Dependency Unit (HDU) and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) services have been resumed at Gajendra Narayan Singh Hospital, Rajbiraj, Saptari. The HDU and NICU services at the hospital were suspended for a year and two months, respectively.
Both services were resumed from Wednesday, said Dr. Awadhesh Kumar Mishra, Chief Medical Superintendent of the hospital. According to him, the 12-bed HDU and four-bed NICU services have been resumed.
‘We have resumed both services with the active cooperation and coordination of all doctors, nursing staff, paramedics and employees,’ said Chief Medical Superintendent Dr. Mishra, ‘A newborn baby was admitted to the NICU, which is providing completely free services, on Wednesday itself.’
On Kartik 23, the NICU service was halted after relatives assaulted doctors after an electric short circuit caused an LED light to fall and injured a newborn baby.
