Lahan Municipality has provided nutritious food to more than 100 pregnant and postpartum women. 105 pregnant and postpartum women from Lahan-23, Gadha, Siraha were provided nutritious food on Tuesday.
According to the municipality, the nutrition package includes nutritious foods like rice, lentils, salt, oil, gram, peas, soybeans. The municipality, which has been running the nutrition package program for three years, distributes nutritional materials on the 22nd of every month.

The municipality has made it a rule to undergo regular pregnancy check-ups at the local health post to receive the nutrition package. Mayor Chaudhary said that this has ended the trend of pregnant women not getting tested in the past and has also increased health awareness in the society.
