A motorcyclist died after being hit by an electric (EV) vehicle in Boudhimai, Rautahat on Monday.
On the internal road section from Pipariya to Ajagaibi in Boudhimai Municipality-1, Bhuwali Chowk, an electric vehicle bearing the number Bagmati Province 03-001 Ja 766 hit a Platina motorcycle, said Police Inspector Rudra Raj Kandel of the District Police Office Gaur.
Baitha, who was seriously injured in the collision, was admitted to the Provincial Hospital Gaur for treatment. Baitha died during treatment. The motorcycle Baitha was riding was a 'One Test'.
The police have taken the vehicle that caused the collision and the driver, Upendra Sah, a resident of Rajpur Municipality-5 in the district, under control. The body of the deceased has been kept at the Provincial Hospital Gaur. Police Inspector Kandel said that the incident is being investigated.
