A forest watchman working at the Sagarnath Forest Development Project in Writerkhor, Ishwarpur Municipality-2, has been brutally murdered.

The body of 47-year-old Ramishwar Mahato, a local who was working as a forest ranger on a wage basis in the project, was found with his head cut off.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Saroj Rai informed that the severed head has not been found yet. He said that the police are trying to find the head of the deceased.

Locals have reported that Mahato's headless body was found in the forest about 500 meters away from his house. Mahato, who went there on Saturday morning after hearing the sound of cutting a tree, did not return home by noon, and the body was found during a search.

Police said that they have arrested a suspect and are continuing the investigation with the help of trained dogs. Locals have become panicked after the incident.
