Traffic police have launched a youth campaign against road accidents in Madhesh. The program was launched through a rally and interaction, and the province-level campaign was launched from Bardibas in Mahottari, informed Baburam Karki, Chief of the District Traffic Police Office, Mahottari.

The traffic police have stated that this program is targeted at youth as the number of injured and killed in road accidents in 8 districts of Madhesh is higher among the youth aged 17 to 30.

Under this campaign, various programs including regular speed checks, drug and alcohol consumption checks, a 2-minute awareness campaign for two-wheelers, awareness classes for school and campus students, pasting boards, stickers and playing awareness jingles, and taking initiatives to maintain the road condition are included in this campaign, said Superintendent of Police Rajkumar Silwal, Office Chief of the Nepal Police Highway Safety and Traffic Management Office, Pathlaiya.
