Police have arrested three Indians with undisclosed hundi transaction proceeds. The arrested are Anwar Mia, 50, a native of Bettiah, Mathauli, Bihar, India and currently residing in Chhapkaiya, Birgunj Metropolitan City-2, his son Kaif, 22, and Phool Mohammed, 48, of Gamhari Kala-3, Motihari, Bihar, India.
Police arrested Anwar Mia and his son Kaif from Makalu Chowk, Birgunj Metropolitan City-10 on Monday based on a special tip-off. While they were riding a motorcycle with Indian registration number BR 22 H 6338, they were stopped and searched. 130,950 rupees, 52 rupees of 1,000 denomination, 157 rupees of 500 denomination and 9 rupees of 500 denomination were recovered from the pocket of Anwar Mia's pants. 200 rupees of 1,000 denomination and 200 rupees of 500 denomination were recovered from the pocket of Kaif, who was riding behind the motorcycle.
Another Indian citizen, Phul Mohammed, was also arrested from Makalu Chowk on Monday along with the money for hundi transactions. 241 rupees of 1,000 denomination notes were found from the pocket of the jacket worn by Phul Mohammed, who was riding a motorcycle with registration number Lu 41 Pa 6897.
Parsa Police Spokesperson DSP Raju Karki informed that the three arrested persons are being investigated by the Parsa District Court for the offence of not engaging in transactions related to promissory notes, including the undisclosed amount of promissory notes, as per Section 125 (a) of the Criminal Code 2074 BS.
