As the cold weather continues to worsen in Madhesh, Lahan Municipality has started distributing warm clothes to Dalit and underprivileged slums.
The municipality has started distributing blankets to Dalits and the underprivileged.
In the meantime, on Saturday, the municipality provided warm blankets to 28 underprivileged Musahar families of Bano in Ward 15 and 85 Dalits and underprivileged citizens of Ward 24. Mayor Mahesh Prasad Chaudhary said that more than 500 blankets will be distributed to all wards of the city this winter.
Similarly, the municipality has made arrangements to provide firewood to the general public and passersby in the main places of the village and market to light fires. Mayor Chaudhary said that such arrangements have been made in places where people gather more.
