On Saturday, a mobile patrol team under the command of Deputy Superintendent of Armed Police Shambhu Katuwala set up a check point at Maniharwa Chowk in Patervasugauli Rural Municipality-5 from Security Base Pokhariya and seized 5 kg of marijuana hidden in the trunk of an Indian motorcycle bearing BR 22 U 1178, owned by 43-year-old Rabindra Mahato of Parsa Pakahamainpur Rural Municipality-5, who was heading from Nepal to India.
Similarly, Ashok Mahato, 37, of Jhumka-14, Bettiah Behara, Bihar district, India, was seized from a vehicle carrying 4 kg and 300 grams of marijuana, totaling nine kg and 300 grams of marijuana, hidden under the seat of an Indian motorcycle bearing BR 22 A 5302.
The seized narcotics, marijuana, a motorcycle, two mobile phones and Indian rupees 1,450 were handed over to the Area Police Office, Patervasugauli, according to DSP Bishwaraj Yonjan, Information Officer of the Armed Police Force, Parsa.
