Siraha's Anandi Saday death case: Both accused arrested after a year

Two accused have been arrested in the death case of 24-year-old Anandi Saday of Donbari Tole in Nawarajpur Rural Municipality-3, Siraha.

The accused, 22-year-old Sanjeev Yadav and 32-year-old Shyamsundar Yadav, were arrested. They were living in hiding in India.

Both were arrested last Wednesday from the border area of Nawarajpur-3 Jhanjhapatti by a team led by Chief Police Inspector Bishal Malla of the Area Police Office, Maheshpur Patar. Anantaram Sharma, Chief Superintendent of Police of the District Police Office, Siraha, informed that they are being investigated after receiving a court summons.

Anandi was found hanging in her own house at 3 pm on Baisakh 20. Before that, Sanjeev and Shyamsundar had attempted to gang rape her on Poush 9, 2081. However, on the one hand, the police were reluctant to register a complaint and arrest the accused, and on the other hand, the accused pressured her to meet in the village, so Anandi was found dead.
