Police have uprooted a large amount of marijuana in Rudalpur, Kalyanpur Municipality-9, Siraha. The police uprooted marijuana grown in fields and orchards in Rudalpur on Saturday morning.
DSP Rajesh Raj Puri, chief of the Area Police Office, Mirchaiya, informed that around 1,150 marijuana plants planted on about nine acres of land belonging to various people in this village were uprooted and destroyed by burning.
According to DSP Puri, after the police received information about commercial marijuana cultivation, a team of 38 police officers from the Area Police Office, District Police Office and Narcotics Control Bureau was mobilized to uproot them.
Although marijuana cultivation is illegal, some people in this area cultivate marijuana due to legal ignorance and some deliberately, DSP Puri said that such uprooting campaigns will continue in the coming days.
