As the cold wave continues to extend, the Birgunj Metropolitan City Office has extended the previously announced school holidays by two more days.
The Metropolitan City Office published a notice on Saturday, extending the suspension of teaching and learning in community and institutional schools in the metropolis for five days from Poush 7 to 11 until Monday.
Since Poush 15 is a public holiday due to Tamu Lhosar, schools will operate regularly only from Poush 16. The notice, signed by Anand Lamichhane, Chief of the Metropolitan City's Educational Administration Division, expects that the holiday will protect the health of students and prevent unnecessary risks.
In the previous notice, it was mentioned that Poush 10 is a public holiday for Christmas, Poush 11 is a substitute holiday according to the academic calendar, and Poush 12 is a Saturday, so schools will open from Poush 13.
