3 arrested with opium from Kolhabi market

Police on Saturday arrested three people with half a kilo of opium being smuggled from Nepal to India. They were arrested at Kolhabi Bazaar on the Tamagadhi-Simraungadh road section.

A police team jointly deployed from the Area Police Office, Kolhabi and the Narcotics Control Bureau Branch Office, Birgunj arrested them from Kolhabi-1 on the basis of a special information, said Police Inspector Ranjan Mishra of the Area Police Office, Kolhabi. A motorcycle bearing the number Madhes Province 2-03-005 Pa 6312 was also recovered from them. According to him, 32-year-old Rajesh Sah of Chandrapur Municipality-10, 29-year-old Nagendra Sah of Ward 2, and 22-year-old Gyanendra Ram of Ward 2, Rautahat, were arrested. He said that further investigation is underway against them.  

The opium produced in the Chure Hills region is being traded in three places (three stages) and taken to the Indian market by traders.
