The cyclist, Mendu Dorje Lopchan, aged around 60, of Lalbandi-2, died on the spot when a 14-wheeled truck carrying scrap metal (number Na 7 Kha 7369) hit his bicycle coming from Nawalpur towards Malangwa. The truck involved in the accident and the body of the deceased are at the scene, while the truck driver has absconded. Police have said that the details of the driver have not been revealed. Police have said that further investigation is underway into the incident.
