Police have seized a large quantity of hashish from Birgunj.
Parsa Police held a press conference on Sunday to inform about the incident. Parsa Police Chief Superintendent of Police Sudip Raj Pathak said that based on a special information, hashish was found during a vehicle check at 7:30 pm on Saturday at the road section in Jagarnathpur Dhant, Birgunj Metropolitan City-22.
According to him, when a truck (Na 3 Kha 5093) coming from Makawanpur towards Birgunj was stopped and checked, 2 quintals of 40 kg of hashish hidden on the top of the truck's cabin with a false button were found. The truck driver, Saroj Moktan, 29, of Makawanpur Thaha Municipality-11, and Nawaraj Lo, 21, of the same place, who was also a passenger in the truck, have also been arrested. Pathak said that they have been taken into custody and further investigation is underway.
