Chief Minister Yadav had written a letter to the Provincial Assembly Secretariat on Wednesday to call a meeting for a vote of confidence. With the support of 77 lawmakers from seven parties, Congress parliamentary party leader Yadav was appointed Chief Minister of Madhesh Province on November 19. Provincial Chief Surendra Lav Karna had appointed Yadav as Chief Minister as per Article 168(2) of the Constitution.
There is a legal provision to take a vote of confidence within 30 days of the appointment of the Chief Minister. Yadav is taking a vote of confidence 15 days after being appointed as Chief Minister.
