The new bus park in Malangwa, the headquarters of Sarlahi, has been in regular operation since today. However, small vehicles have protested. They have also demanded to be allowed to use the bus park.
The bus park came into operation only three years after its construction. The new bus park could not be put into operation due to a dispute between bus and small vehicle operators over the issue of passenger transport.
After the well-equipped bus park was neglected due to the dispute between the two operators, Chief District Officer Ramuraj Kadariya had decided to bring the new bus park into operation from Poush 10 days ago after discussing with the stakeholders. Accordingly, the new bus park has come into operation.
According to Chief District Officer Kadariya, buses have been brought into operation from the new bus park and small vehicles from the ground at Jibis Chowk. But small vehicle owners have not accepted this decision. They are protesting, demanding that small vehicles should also be allowed to use the bus park.
The construction of the bus park near the District Police Office in Malangwa Municipality-2 was completed three years ago at a cost of Rs 83.1 million. But instead of operating buses from the well-equipped bus park, buses used to leave from the land of the Agricultural Development Bank in the middle of the main market in Ward No. 9.
