In Madhesh Province, the Congress-led government has failed to secure a vote of confidence, leading to a tussle between the ruling coalition parties. The third largest party among the ruling coalition parties, the Janamat Party, has warned that it will quit the government before the government led by Chief Minister Krishna Prasad Yadav is complete.

Although the budget has allocated funds for a program to create 10,000 jobs under the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism in the current fiscal year, after the responsibility of the ministry was given to Kanish Patel of the CPN-Maoist, Janmat Party senior vice-chairman Basanta Kushwaha has warned of quitting the government through social media. Kushwaha, who was also the Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism of Madhesh Province, has been accusing Chief Minister Yadav of giving the responsibility of the ministry to other parties in the name of division.

Kushwaha wrote on Facebook, 'If there is no assurance in the government as per the objectives of the Janmat Party, we should be ready to separate from the Madhesh Province government.' Ten days after being appointed as the Chief Minister, on the recommendation of Krishna Prasad Yadav, Province Chief Surendra Labh Karna appointed Jawahar Kushwaha of the Maoist Center as the Minister of Energy, Irrigation and Drinking Water and Rani Kumari Tiwari of the LOSPA Nepal as the Minister of Education and Culture on Monday. Similarly, Kanish Patel of the Unified Socialist Party, who was appointed as a minister without a portfolio, was assigned the responsibility of the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism.
