Sarlahi police seized an ambulance carrying marijuana from Hariwan and found that the ambulance was being used to transport it. Police have recovered 51 kg 500 grams of marijuana hidden in a sack at the back of an ambulance bearing the number Ja 1 Cha 1558 in Ghurkauli, Hariwan Municipality-5.

The ambulance, which is in the name of Nepal Red Cross Society Ramnagar Bahu Arwa, was seized after receiving information that marijuana was being transported in the ambulance.

The ambulance driver, Surendra Raya Yadav, 37, of Yamunamai Rural Municipality-4, Rautahat, has been arrested. Superintendent of Police Yogendra Kumar Khadka informed that an investigation is underway into the seized marijuana. On Friday only Police had taken into custody a person along with a pickup van carrying 52 kg of marijuana from Lalbandi Municipality-11, Hirapur.

Marijuana has been cultivated commercially in the Chure area of ​​the district. Marijuana produced here is being sent to India for sale.
