Krishna Prasad Yadav was elected from Rautahat Constituency No. 4 in the first Constituent Assembly election in 2064 BS. He is considered close to Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba. He has been the Rautahat District President of the party for two consecutive terms since 2067 BS. After that, he became the Madhesh Province Congress President. In the 2079 BS Provincial Assembly election, he was elected from Constituency No. 1 'B'. He has a bachelor's degree in agriculture.
Yadav was elected as the leader of the party's parliamentary party on December 14. He also played a role as both an MP and party leader in the decision to withdraw Congress's support to the previous government in Madhesh Province. He was also the Minister of Physical Infrastructure when the JSP-led government was in the Provincial Assembly.
