The meeting of the Provincial Assembly has been moved forward in the absence of Chief Minister Saroj Kumar Yadav. After no one from the government was present in the meeting, which had an agenda of taking a vote of confidence, Deputy Speaker Babita Raut Iser has adjourned the meeting by allowing Chief Minister Yadav to submit a motion to seek a vote of confidence.
However, since the Chief Minister and the government were not present, Deputy Speaker Raut has adjourned the meeting till 2 pm today.
Earlier, Chief Minister Yadav did not appear in the Provincial Assembly at the time set by the Provincial Assembly Secretariat to take the vote of confidence. The meeting could not be held on time due to his absence. According to LSP MP Upendra Mahato, the meeting was delayed because Chief Minister Yadav, who was to present the vote of confidence, did not arrive in the Provincial Assembly on time.
Although Chief Minister Yadav was asked to take the vote of confidence within 24 hours in the Supreme Court's order, he had written a letter to the Provincial Assembly Secretariat to call the Provincial Assembly meeting for the vote of confidence at 2 pm on Wednesday as he had received the letter only at 3 pm on Tuesday. However, the Provincial Assembly Secretariat had set the time for the Provincial Assembly meeting for the vote of confidence at 8:30 am on Wednesday.
