Police have arrested two people with a car used in marijuana smuggling and a large quantity of marijuana. The arrested have been identified as Bhim Syangtan, 32, of Makawanpur Bhimphedi Rural Municipality-8, and Kumar Syangtan, 38, of Makawanpurgadhi Rural Municipality-1, Aptar, Makawanpur.

Police arrested them from Patervasugauli Rural Municipality-2, Rangpur at 3 pm on Monday. Based on information about the smuggling of marijuana, the police stopped a car (B.A.B. 9398) heading from Manawa to Rangpur and searched it. 104 kg of marijuana hidden in 10 bags was recovered from the car.

Bhim Syangtan was driving the car. They were taken into custody along with the car and marijuana and further investigation into the drug-related offense is underway, informed DSP Raju Karki, spokesperson and information officer of Parsa Police.
