Police on Sunday made public the names of two people, including the driver of the Kiran Beverage Water Industry, who were arrested on charges of murdering Ramkishore Singh, the manager of the industry, located in Bhaluhi Chowk, Prasauni Rural Municipality-6.
Singh, 50, of Dhankaul village, Dhankaul rural municipality-2, Sarlahi, was killed by a sharp weapon on the neck after being taken away from the factory on Thursday night. His body was found on Friday morning. Rajan Kumar Ram, 22, and Pramod Sah Turaha, 32, both residents of Maniyari, Birgunj Metropolitan City-22, and working in the factory, have been arrested on charges of murder. Both of them were arrested from around Viswa Bazaar, a western coastal area of Parsa, while fleeing to India, said Police Inspector Khem Nepal, Acting Information Officer of the Bara District Police. Ram, who was arrested, was previously the driver of a vehicle used to sell water in the same factory. Six years ago, at the Gadhimai fair, Manager Singh treated him harshly for damaging the vehicle's 'clutch plate', which led to an argument between the two. After that, he quit his job as a driver and stayed at home. After some time, he started working in the industry again.
Ram was dismissed by Manager Singh again on the charge of selling for Rs 5 to 10 more than the price set by the industry and using the money for himself, bringing the industry into disrepute and cheating the businessman. After it was found that he had sold for Rs 5 to 10 more than the price set by the industry of Rs 110 per packet, Ram was dismissed from his job again.
Police Inspector Nepal said that initial investigation revealed that Ram and his friend had murdered Manager Singh because of the same RECEB. ‘Initial investigation has revealed that Ram killed Manager Singh with the help of his friend Turaha on the pretext of being removed from his job,’ said Police Inspector Nepal. ‘It seems that there has been a rift between Ram and Manager Singh, who were arrested, for the past 6 years.
Police Inspector Nepal said that they had planned the murder by drinking alcohol together while sitting in Birgunj. "The court has extended the remand for seven days and is conducting an investigation," he said. "Other matters will be revealed during the statement."
