A child died of electrocution in Gaur, the district headquarters of Rautahat, on Saturday. The child, who was injured in the electrocution, died during treatment.

The District Police Office, Gaur, has reported that Ritik Kumar Sah, 5-year-old son of Sunil Sah, who was a resident of Pataura Tole, Maulapur Municipality-4 and living in Gaur Municipality-5, has died of electrocution. 

Ritik was electrocuted when he touched an electric wire near the roof while playing in a new pucca house being built by local Bir Bahadur Sah near the Hanuman Temple in Gaur. After he was injured, he was immediately taken to the Provincial Hospital, Gaur for treatment. Police have stated that Ritik died during treatment. 

The body has been kept at the hospital for post-mortem. The District Police, Gaur, has stated that further investigation into the incident is underway.
