UML members of the Madhesh Provincial Assembly are set to boycott today's meeting in the Madhesh Provincial Assembly. The agenda for today's meeting is to discuss the proposal that Speaker Ram Chandra Mandal was not appointed according to his position.
But the CPN-UML is going to boycott today's meeting, claiming that it has not done anything unconstitutional.
UML Provincial Assembly member Sarada Devi Thapa said that she has received information about the meeting, but she will boycott today's meeting. She said that even though the Speaker has worked according to the constitution and rules, the opposition parties have created a ruckus.
CPN-UML Chief Whip Hari Narayan Mahata also said that he will not attend today's meeting. However, he said that he cannot come due to family matters. Another CPN-UML MP, Rajkumar Lekhi, said that the Chief Whip did not inform us about whether the party will attend or not. He intended to remain absent from today's meeting.
However, in the end, he said that the Speaker did not call us. And, he informed that he did not receive any information from the Provincial Assembly. However, the Provincial Assembly staff said that all Provincial Assembly members were informed via SMS.
