Opposition party alleges: Speaker cuts power in Madhesh Provincial Assembly

Opposition MPs in the Madhesh Provincial Assembly have accused Speaker Ram Chandra Mandal of cutting off electricity. The meeting was called for 1 pm on Wednesday, but it has not yet begun.

Currently, an attempt is being made to turn on the lights from a DJ vehicle in the premises of the Provincial Assembly building. Opposition lawmakers allege that Speaker Mandal deliberately cut off the electricity to disrupt the Provincial Assembly meeting.

Earlier, the line was cut off when the Speaker came with a proposal. The Speaker is in favor of not holding today's meeting, while seven parties are preparing to sit as it is the last day to discuss the proposal.

In addition, there is confusion in the conduct of the meeting due to the absence of the Provincial Assembly secretary. It is said that the proposal for misconduct registered against Speaker Ramchandra Mandal will be discussed today. 64 Provincial Assembly members from 7 parties, including the Nepali Congress, had registered a proposal for misconduct by Speaker Mandal.

On Tuesday, Isher had called the Provincial Assembly meeting for 1 pm after 32 Provincial Assembly members submitted a letter to Deputy Speaker Babita Raut Isher to call the meeting.

Out of the current 104 Provincial Assembly members, 75 Provincial Assembly members have arrived, informed Congress Chief Whip Kumar Kant Jha.
