Speaker Ram Chandra Mandal has dismissed five members of the Provincial Assembly in Madhesh.

Seven parties had filed a no-confidence motion against Speaker Mandal on Thursday. As a result, he has dismissed five MPs.

Those to be dismissed are Urmila Devi Singh (Nagarik Unmukti Party), Manish Kumar Suman (JSP), Sanjay Kumar Yadav (JSP), Sinhasan Sah Kalwar (JSP) and Sharada Shankar Prasad Kalwar (JSP).

According to Article 180 (d) of the Constitution, the Provincial Assembly Secretariat has dismissed the members of the Provincial Assembly from their posts from today for being absent from 10 consecutive meetings of the Provincial Assembly.

In the meeting on Kartik 22, 7 parties had registered a 'proposal for the Speaker not behaving in a manner befitting his office', alleging that the leader of a parliamentary party was not allowed to use the rostrum in the Provincial Assembly, contrary to the decision of the Business Advisory Committee, that the assembly was repeatedly conducted by the Speaker as per the instructions of one party, and that the assembly was conducted without the presence of the opposition party.
