A new turn has come in the leadership of the Madhesh Province government. On Sunday evening, seven main parties, including the Nepali Congress, stood together. The Congress, the JSP, the LSP, the CPN-Maoist Center, the Unified Socialist Party, the Janmat Party, and the Nagarik Unmukti Party stood together.
The leaders and representatives of these parties are currently meeting with the provincial chief Sumitra Bhandari and requesting her to form a government in accordance with Article 168 (2) of the Constitution of Nepal, said Krishna Prasad Yadav, leader of the Nepali Congress parliamentary party. He said that he has requested the provincial chief Bhandari to form a new government in accordance with the constitution and on the basis of precedents. He claims that the provincial chief has assured that he will move forward according to the constitution.
He informed that there is no agreement on forming a new coalition at the moment. However, he said that he will discuss the coalition and the government as soon as the provincial chief calls for the formation of a new government.

CPN-Maoist Centre parliamentary party leader Bharat Prasad Sah said that he has now met the provincial chief to protect the constitution and federalism and will discuss the remaining issues later.
Acting Chief Minister Jitendra Prasad Sonar (Sonal) also said that he has called for the formation of a new government on the basis of the constitution. He said that the provincial chief is positive about that. However, he estimates that it will take a few more days to call for the formation of a new government.
The U-turn of the Congress has increased the possibility of forming an alliance other than the CPN-UML.
