Madhesh Province Chief Sumitra Bhandari has begun consultations with various political parties and constitutional experts to form a new government.

On Sunday, she held discussions with Congress parliamentary party leader Krishna Prasad Yadav, UML parliamentary party leader Saroj Kumar Yadav, Speaker Ram Chandra Mandal and acting Chief Minister Jitendra Prasad Sonar (Sonal). The parties supported by Sonal had requested to call for the formation of a new government as per Article 168 (2) of the Constitution. Sonal has argued that this article has not been fully implemented and that he has not lost the vote of confidence, so he should attract the same article.

UML has requested the provincial chief to go to another article since this article has failed. Shatrudhan Yadav, legal officer at the provincial chief's office, said that there is currently a situation of confusion. He said that the provincial chief is consulting and will call for the formation of the government as per the law.
