On Sunday evening, MPs from the Congress, JSP, LOSPA, CPN-Maoist Center, CPN-Unified Socialist, Janmat Party, and Nagarik Unmukti Party jointly met the provincial chief.
The call for the formation of a new government in Madhesh Province will not be taken for two more days. The process of forming a new government will not proceed for two more days as Province Chief Sumitra Bhandari said that time is needed to consult with experts.
She has said this in a meeting with leaders and representatives of seven parties. However, she has assured that she will move forward according to the constitution, informed Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) Nepal Chief Whip Ram Ashish Yadav. According to him, she has said that she will not immediately call for the formation of a new government as she will need two/three days to consult with the constitution and legal experts.
When asked why the representatives of the seven parties went to meet the provincial chief, Whip Yadav said that they went because they had received some news. 'The meeting was held jointly due to rumors that the provincial chief may appoint the largest party in the parliament as the chief minister as per clause (3) of Article 168 of the constitution and go to Kathmandu,' he said.
