A prisoner on a manslaughter charge who escaped from the Central Jail during the Gen-G movement has been arrested from Parsa. The arrested person has been identified as 37-year-old Deepak Kumar Mahara of Birgunj Metropolitan City-8.

Based on a special tip-off, a team deployed from the District Police Office arrested Mahara, an accused in a manslaughter case who was sentenced to 25 years in prison by the Parsa District Court, from his house on Sunday.

He had absconded from the Central Jail, Jagannath Dewal, Kathmandu on Bhadra 24. After his arrest, Mahara was sent to Birgunj Jail, informed Parsa Police Spokesperson DSP Hari Bahadur Basnet.
