Seven parties have written to Provincial Chief Sumitra Bhandari expressing their solidarity for the formation of a new government in Madhesh Province. Seven parties, including the second largest party in the Madhesh Provincial Assembly, Nepali Congress, made the request in writing on Sunday night.
Earlier, leaders and representatives of all seven parties had met the provincial chief and requested him to call for the formation of a new government in accordance with Article 168, Clause 2 of the Constitution.
The written request letter was signed by Nepali Congress Parliamentary Party leader Krishna Prasad Yadav, Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) Nepal leader Saroj Kumar Yadav, Janmat Party leader Mahesh Prasad Yadav, CPN Maoist Center leader Bharat Prasad Sah, Democratic Socialist Party (LSP) Nepal leader Jayanul Rain, CPN United Socialist Party leader Govinda Bahadur Neupane, and Civil Liberties Party's Bimala Ansari.
Since there was no vote of confidence in the letter, all seven parties have expressed the view that a new government should be formed by invoking the same article again. All seven parties have insisted in the letter that a new government should be formed in accordance with the same article while protecting the constitution, democracy, and federalism.
These seven parties met together and made a written request after receiving the news that the provincial chief minister was going to appoint the largest party in parliament as the Chief Minister in accordance with Article 168, Clause 3 of the Constitution.
