Border closed in Saptari for 72 hours from Sunday night

The Saptari administration has decided to close the border for 72 hours from Sunday midnight in view of the ongoing assembly elections in Bihar, India.

The District Administration Office has issued a notice stating that the border will be closed as per the understanding reached during the Nepal-India counterpart meeting on Baisakh 10.

Chief District Officer Tubaraj Pokharel informed that movement through the main border crossings to Madhubani and Supaul in Bihar, which border Saptari, has been banned from 12 midnight on Sunday to 12 midnight on Tuesday.

In the second phase, voting for 122 Legislative Assembly seats in 20 districts including Madhubani and Supaul in Bihar will be held on Tuesday (November 11).
