Health workers have protested by blocking the Janakpur-Dhalkebar road. On Tuesday, health workers continued their protest for the third day by blocking the 'six-lane' road at Ramananda Chowk.

Health workers working in private hospitals have been protesting demanding salaries as per the standards set by the Nepal government.

Alleging that they are being exploited, they have been protesting demanding seven points including salaries as recommended by the Ministry of Health of the Government of Nepal, free health care for the families of health workers, safety and insurance for health workers.

Health worker Ram Binay Thakur said that despite repeated notices issued by the ministry, private hospitals have not implemented them. According to him, despite repeatedly drawing the attention of the District Administration Office, Ministry of Labor, Chief Minister's Office and Ministry of Health, no concrete steps have been taken so far, so they were forced to take to the streets and protest.
