Police have arrested a fugitive accused in the murder of his wife. The arrested person is 25-year-old Sahzim Miyan Ansari of Birgunj Metropolitan City-17. Police took him into custody from his house on Thursday.

He is accused of mentally torturing and beating his wife, 22-year-old Rabina Khatun, to death on April 19, 2018, over a dowry issue. Miyan was absconding after the incident.

The district court sentenced him to one year in prison and a fine of Rs 10,000 in the dereliction of duty case, according to DSP Hari Bahadur Basnet, spokesperson for Parsa Police.
