Police have arrested an Indian tanker driver who was absconding after hitting a motorcycle on the Hulaki road section on Saturday night. The arrested tanker driver has been identified as Rajkumar Yadav, 42, of Hussainpur Tole, Rahika Post, Chainpur Gram Panchayat, Madhubani District, Bihar, India.
A team deployed from Birgunj Metropolitan City-16 Nagwa to the District Police Office, Parsa, took him into custody on Sunday afternoon.
Around 9:30 pm on Saturday night, a team was deployed from Thori, IPR after receiving information that an unknown vehicle had hit a motorcycle bearing State No. 2-04-021 Pa 1770 heading towards Vijayabasti from Subarnapur on the postal road section of Thori Rural Municipality-4 and fled, and that two unidentified men, aged around 36, were fighting on the road.
During the investigation, the police found that out of the two injured, 35-year-old Phurba Lopchan of Thori-5, Thulo Bagmorcha, died on the spot. For further investigation, a team deployed from the Area Police Office, Patervasugauli, under the command of Police Inspector Prakash Thapa, took control of the tanker bearing Na 7 Kha 2178 about 1 km from the incident site.
The driver has been taken into custody and necessary investigation is underway, informed Parsa Police Spokesperson DSP Hari Bahadur Basnet.
