The Ghadiarwa Chhath Puja Management Committee has stated that all preparations for the Chhath festival have been completed at the famous Chhath Ghat, Ghadiarwa Chhath Ghat in Birgunj. The committee held a press conference on Sunday and made public the estimated income and expenditure details for this year along with the preparations for the management of the Ghat.
At the press conference, committee chairman Rakesh Sah Kanu said that this year, the estimated income is about 26 lakh 7 thousand 755 rupees and the expenditure is 23 lakh 8 thousand rupees. He also said that all the preparations have reached the final stage to make the Chhath Puja at the ghat grand, safe and organized.
He said that the main sources of income of the committee this year are ticket sales, advertising support, personal support and support received from organizations. According to the details, it is estimated that 2 million rupees will be collected from ticket sales, 5 lakh from advertising support, 67 thousand from personal support and 40 thousand from organizations.
Similarly, the main heading of expenditure is 1.2 million rupees will be spent on tents, pandals, decorations, lights, sound, flower garlands, etc. The amount is also being spent on stage construction, lighting decoration, security arrangements, cultural programs, worship materials, and welcoming guests, etc.
Committee secretary Santosh Kumar Sah said that no compromise has been made on the security arrangements at the ghat. He said that security arrangements at the ghat have been tightened in coordination with Nepal and the Armed Police Force and the Nepal Army. It is estimated that around 10,000 devotees and more than 200,000 devotees will visit this ghat on the main day of the puja.
