It has been revealed that the Dhanusha police raided a gold and silver shop without coordinating with any agency. It was found that the police raided on Friday without coordinating with the Revenue Investigation Department and the Chief District Officer, the chairman of the Revenue Leakage Committee.

Dhanusha DSP Ganesh Bahadur Bam has been claiming that he conducted the raids with coordination and permission from the Revenue Investigation Office Pathlaiya. However, Hari Sharma, Chief of the Revenue Investigation Office Pathlaiya, responded to Kantipur that the Dhanusha police conducted the raids without coordination. He said that although there was a discussion about the information, the raids were conducted without their consent. ‘Yesterday, the Dhanusha DSP gave information about the gold and silver stolen by the revenue collector.’ We also had a conversation around 4 pm on Friday. However, I had asked him to check the information and update it,’ he said, ‘After that, we have no information. We have not coordinated with us about the raids. None of our representatives have gone either.’

He said that since the chairman of the revenue leakage committee at the district level will be the Chief District Officer, he can coordinate the raids from there as well. However, Dhanusha Chief District Officer Shankarhari Acharya said that he was unaware about the raids. He said that the raid was carried out without the official's knowledge. 'The raid was carried out without informing me,' said Chief District Officer Acharya, 'I came to know about the raid from other agencies. However, the police carried out the raid without coordination.'

Madhesh Province General Secretary of the Federation of Gold and Silver Dealers Manish Raman accused the police of coming to rob them after asking them to raid. 'Some wanderers led by the DSP have robbed seven kilos of silver from a businessman,' he said, 'They neither have a search warrant nor a representative of the Revenue Investigation Department. So how did the raid happen?' In the end, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the gold and silver dealers said that they were not the police but robbers who took the goods without a bond/document rather than taking them with a bond.

Dhanusha DSP Ganesh Bahadur Bam said that the raid was carried out without informing everyone. "I have informed all the agencies," DSP Bam said, "I have acted according to the law." Regarding the silver being taken without a bond, he said that the bond was signed with the consent of both parties, but as the dispute escalated, the signatures may have been omitted. So far, the recovered silver has not been sent to the Revenue Investigation Department.
