The resignation of Satish Kumar Singh, who resigned from the post of Chief Minister of Madhesh Province, has been accepted. Now, the office of the state chief has issued a statement and has accepted Singh's resignation.
It has been mentioned in the statement that the provincial chief Sumitra Bhandari has accepted the resignation as per clause 'A' of Article 169 sub-section (1) of the constitution. In the same statement, according to sub-section (3) of Article 169 of the Constitution, until there is no other arrangement, the existing Council of Ministers has been assigned to carry out the duties of the province.
Singh was preparing to take the vote of confidence today in the Madhesh Pradesh Assembly. However, when it was seen that he was in the minority, he resigned from the rostrum keeping his word before the division of votes.
