Instructions to speed up the road and bridge work under construction in Siraha

What you should know

Instructions have been given to speed up the work of roads and bridges under construction and in the process of construction in Siraha. The concerned government agencies and construction companies have been instructed by the Siraha administration to work without delay.

Chief District Officer, Assistant Chief District Officer, Chief of Police, Chief of Armed Police and others held a discussion with representatives of Postal Highway Directorate, Planning Office Janakpur and representatives of construction companies on Monday.

In the district, information was requested about the physical structures under the Directorate of Postal Highways under construction and in the process of construction. 12 projects including Balan-Kamala road, Golbazar-Jamdah-Lagdi Gadiani road and ten bridges are under operation in Siraha under the Directorate of Postal Highways. Out of which the bridges of Balan river, Kalyandah river, Gulfudhar river have been constructed. However, the Balan-Kamala road is still incomplete. The head of the office, Krishna Kumar Mahato, informed that the physical progress so far is 98 percent.

Similarly, the contract for Manhara river and Trishula river bridge has been managed and is in the process of design approval. Likewise, 95 percent of the work on the new bridge of Gagan River has been completed. Mahato said that the contract for the old bridge of Gagan river has been managed and the construction work is about to start. According to the directorate of

, the work of Sahaja river bridge and Darhia box culvert has been completed only 30 percent so far. The design of the Mainabatti Khola bridge is in the process of approval. The directorate said that the work of the Kamala river bridge, which was almost completed in 2078, has been stopped and the work is about to start again.

Similarly, only 45 percent of the first section and 35 percent of the second section have been completed on the Golbazar-Jamdah-Lagdi Gadiani road. The head of the directorate, Mahato, complained that there was no necessary support from the local people, but due to the laxity of the builders, the work could not be done even though the deadline had been extended several times.

The builders claimed that the work could not be done due to the site not being cleared, lawsuits and payment problems. The chief district officer of Siraha, Vasant Adhikari, said that the citizens had to suffer because the plans were not completed on time, and instructed them to work without making excuses.  He promised to facilitate the removal of the obstacles encountered during the

work, and warned that necessary legal action would be taken against the party who did the
