With the support of 58 MPs, Congress submitted its claim to the Madhesh government

With the support of 58 MPs, Congress submitted its claim to the Madhesh government

Congress has submitted a claim to the Madhes state government. On Wednesday evening, the Congress submitted its claim to the office of the provincial head with the support of 58 MPs from three parties.

After Chief Minister Satish Kumar Singh did not resign, UML withdrew its support and submitted a claim for the formation of a new government. In the absence of state chief Sumitra Subedi Bhandari, the acting secretary of the office Satrudhan Yadav has been handed over for the formation of a new government under the leadership of Congress Parliamentary Party leader Krishna Prasad Yadav.

Yadav informed that although there is an agreement for the formation of the government under his leadership, the matter of the ministry has not been decided. There are 107 MPs in Madhesh State Assembly. However, one MP from LOSPA and UML is currently suspended. The support of 54 MPs is required to form the government.

It is mentioned in the letter that the three parties have submitted claims for the formation of a new government in accordance with Article 920 of Article 168 of the Constitution of Nepal. 

23 of UML, 22 of Congress and 13 members of Janmat have submitted a claim for the formation of a new government. Currently, Jaspa, Maoist Center, United Socialists have not yet decided whether to join the government or not.
