According to DSP Kishore Lamsal, spokesperson of District Police Office, after the father and son staying in room number 111 of the hotel did not open the door all day on Tuesday, the staff of the hotel informed the police after looking into the room through the ventilation.
A father and son were found dead in a hotel in Birganj. 67-year-old father Sajal Acharji and his 24-year-old son Sagar Acharji, a resident of India Tripura state, were found dead at Saha Paradise Hotel in Birgunj Bus Park.
According to DSP Kishore Lamsal, spokesperson of District Police Office, after the father and son staying in room number 111 of the hotel did not open the door all day on Tuesday, the staff of the hotel informed the police after looking into the room through the ventilation.
The police reached the scene around 10 o'clock on Tuesday night. They arrived at the hotel room at 4:30 pm on Sunday. They did not come out of the room after Monday.
Police broke the door on Wednesday morning and saw son Sagar hanging and father Sajal lying on the bed in the room. Looking at the things they kept in the room, it looks like they left the house from somewhere. DSP Lamsal said that it is assumed that they are going to migrate from Kathmandu or other cities and go towards India. When the door of the room was broken, a forensic doctor was also called and investigated.
DSP Lamsal said that the Consulate General of India in Birganj has also been informed about the incident. He said that the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
