Sada Tol located in Hanumannagar Kankalini Municipality-7 of Saptari was submerged due to flood in Saptakoshi river after heavy rain since Saturday evening. When the houses of around 40 families were flooded, 15-year-old Shivnarayan Sada's house was also flooded, and the entire crop was washed away. Shivnarayan, who lives in the village of Kiriya, mother Vijlidevi Sada, now the child is in a bad condition after the flood swept away the corn leaves that he had collected by doing wage labor in the village.

Shivnarayan's father Surendra Sada, who has been living on the western embankment of Koshi River for years, died a year ago due to lack of treatment at the age of 30.

``He used to cry when his father's back hurt badly,'' Shivnarayan expressed his pain, ``He also got treatment at the health post and hospital here.'' The doctor said that he had to go out for further treatment, but due to lack of money, his father could not receive further treatment.

After that, Shivnarayan told that a month ago, his mother fell ill even though he was going to the village and market for wages.

"Though we brought pills (tablets) from the square and gave them, the fever did not get cured for 15/17 days," he said. It is becoming difficult to remove the stain when it is washed away.

"My sister (Koshilakumari) did the feast on the fourth day of Kiriya's stay, but my sister-cousin also took a loan and spent it," said Shivnarayan, "now there is concern about how to carry out the tradition, adding the problem of flood protection has added to the pain."

Shivnarayan complained that the people's representatives have not yet paid attention to the 40 Dalit families who have been living under tripals on the road for two days without eating rice when their houses were flooded. "I am in trouble, after the flood, most of the families here do not have stoves, they are living on bhuja and noodles," he said.
